Actuarial valuation of long-term benefits administered by the Iranian Social Security Organization has been released


Actuarial valuation of long-term benefits administered by the Iranian Social Security Organization as at 19 March 2016 (29 Esfand 1394), released in the past few days.

Actuarial valuation is conducted to monitor the performance of financial institutions and evaluate the competency of their managers. In particular, Actuarial valuation plays a very important role in analyzing and reviewing the financial status of social insurance schemes and proposing appropriate policies to make sure their sustainability. Estimating the effects of various reforms and changes in a social insurance plan as well as evaluating financial implications of a new plan, are some of the important functions of Actuarial skill in social insurance.

Because of the importance of this, the report of “Actuarial valuation of long-term benefits administered by the Iranian Social Security Organization as at 19 March 2016 (29 Esfand 1394)”has been prepared in the framework of the Trust-in Fund project between the Iranian Social Security Research Institute (SSRI) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Iranian Social Security Organization as at 19 March 2016.

The results of the report show the financial instability of the Iranian Social Security Organization, and alerts about the dangers that the organization and its population are facing in the future if the current situations continue.
